Knowledge - Version Control

June 10, 2021 MetaPulse Team
image.001.jpeg

Knowledge goes beyond mere "document storage" — it’s NOT another Dropbox, Google Drive or shared document editing system.

Knowledge monitors engagement on important company policy and procedures to ensure everyone on your team can access the information, understand it and most importantly, use it.

With our built-in version control, you can compare what has changed between versions. So your team only needs to study what has changed!

Import Existing Documents

You can copy and paste your document straight into Knowledge.

If you have documents in Google Drive, you can export them in DOC format via google Takeout.

Reach out and let us know if you need help with this process. We offer full onboarding for your entire team.

Congratulations to KnowBe4, now listed on the NASDAQ!

April 28, 2021 Mikel Lindsaar
ljcfGcQw.png

After 10 years of stellar growth under the guidance of Stu Sjouwerman, KnowBe4 went public on April 22, 2021.

Despite achieving annual revenues close to $200 million and a market capitalization of over $4 billion, KnowBe4 still has an amazing 36% annual growth rate with 80%+ Gross Profit.

How did they get there? In Stu Sjouwerman’s words...

“... radical transparency, extreme ownership, complete honesty. That’s the bedrock of the KnowBe4 culture. But how do you get there? Well, we get there with OKRs that are visible for everyone”

We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Stu and the entire KnowBe4 Team who have proven that continued hypergrowth is possible.

From all of us at envisage, well done! We’re glad we were along for the ride … here’s to the next decade of hypergrowth for KnowBe4!

How to Create a Rolling Graph

December 8, 2020 MetaPulse Team
accumulative.png

We had a client recently who wanted to add up graph values for the last 12 months. “Can envisage do that?” she asked.

You bet!  Here’s how it’s done:

Let’s say you wanted to know the total income from the last 12 months.

Keep in mind, this is what we call a rolling statistic. Every week or month it will automatically update to include only the last 12 months.

First step is to create a new calculated graph, we’ll call it “1 year Accumulative Income.”

We then use the offset feature to add up past values, as shown below.

SkT4iTSw.png

The above example will create a 4-week rolling accumulation graph. To make this a 1-year accumulation rolling graph requires we add 52 weeks to the formula (this can be a little tedious, so reach out if you need help.)

To make this a quarterly rolling accumulation graph, add 12 weeks to the formula. The sky’s the limit because envisage can perform any type of mathematical calculation you want.

The thing to keep in mind is this — once the data is inside envisage, anything can be accomplished!

If you need help let us know, we offer full onboarding for your entire team.

New Features to Help You Grow

October 30, 2020 MetaPulse Team
envisage-social.png

We’re in the process of building two awesome, highly sort-after features for you.

  1. Tasks

  2. Knowledge

Here’s a brief rundown of how they’ll work.

Tasks

Tasks will be an extension of our Objectives feature, enabling you to plan for the big picture, as well as set and track tasks required to achieve your objectives.

With Tasks added to Objectives, you’ll have the ultimate planning tool to help you manage growth. No matter how big you grow or how distributed your team, you can track and monitor progress and know what needs to be done.

Knowledge

Another sought after feature is team knowledge. We’ll provide a place to keep all your company policies and procedures and associate them with the Org Chart allowing new hires to instantly be assigned all the materials they need to learn to be effective on their job.

Plus we’ll provide a tracking system so you know who on your team has read and understood the information they need to know to handle their job. This includes notifications on any update to ensure those who need to know are kept up-to-date with any changes.

Combined with the org chart, the knowledge system provides another layer of coordination across your entire team. It’s another way envisage will help you manage growth.

We’re working hard on both Tasks and our Knowledge system and they are due to be released this year.

Let us know if you need help. We offer full onboarding for your entire team.

To Delete or Archive? That is the Question

September 22, 2020 MetaPulse Team
dont delete better to archive-2.png

In the ongoing progress of making envisage the foremost Growth Management System™ application ever, we’ve added an important feature on how members are “removed” from the system.

Until now, the only way to remove a member was to delete them. This meant that the graphs and objectives assigned to that member had to be either deleted or archived too. It also meant that the connection between the individual and the result was severed.

Trying to figure out 2 years from now who achieved result “X” was cumbersome.

That’s why we’ve added the ability to archive a member. This means that the individual can no longer access your envisage organisation, but all information remains accessible, so you can still see who created what result, even when they’ve left the company.

We also prevented a member from being removed if they have assigned graphs, objectives, posts and events.

Here’s the choices you now see in the Member settings:

edit memeber settings.png

And when you choose “Archive Member,” you’ll see this warning.

archive member warning.png

It’s another useful tool that helps you manage growth.

Of course, the first step is having all of your members using envisage and posted on your org chart. If you need help creating your org chart in envisage, let us know, we offer full onboarding for your entire team.

And check out our help docs for more information on How to Archive or Remove a Member.

Building an expanding and profitable business takes time and dedication.

While MetaPulse makes it easy to track statistics, implementing all of MetaPulse’s features also takes time and dedication. Often in business the important non-urgent tasks take a back seat to the urgent yet not-so-important ones.

Org Chart - In Charge Feature

September 4, 2020 MetaPulse Team
org chart in charge feature.png

The In Charge feature in envisage makes it easy for managers to coordinate their team’s activities.

Several weeks ago we made a significant change to the way the org chart works—we now have Hats, Posts and Members.

Each hat on the org chart can be assigned the “In Charge” of that area. This automatically grants the In Charge with edit permissions for all their juniors on the org chart.

This makes it easy for a manager to view and update graphs, objectives and monitor their team’s performance.

This applies across the entire org chart, permitting every manager from the top to the bottom, to effectively manage.

It’s another vital feature that enables hyper-growth.

The first step is having an org chart! If you need help creating your org chart in envisage, let us know, we can help create it for you! See our help docs for more information on Creating Hats and Adding Posts to the Org Chart.

Easily compare this year to last year

September 1, 2020 MetaPulse Team
Last Year Comparison Graphs -2.png

Although you should track your stats on a weekly basis, it’s often good to know if you are beating last year’s performance.

You can do this using the Offset feature, now available with Comparison Graphs and Calculated Graphs.

We’ve made an upgrade so you can easily compare different periods in any frequency, be it weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Prior to this recent upgrade, the offset feature was limited to the graph's default frequency.

Let’s create a comparison graph to compare the current month’s Sales to the Sales of the same month last year.

Creating an Offset Comparison Graph

First we create a new Comparison graph called Sales This Year / Last year. Then we added the current values and 12-month-offset values as shown below.

new comparison graph-2.png

End Result

Now you can easily compare your current results to the same period last year, whether weekly, monthly or quarterly. Simple hover to see the values and dates.

Last Year Comparison Graphs -2.png

For more information on how to create a “This Year / Last Year” comparison graph see Period Offset in Calculated Graphs and How to Create a Comparison Graph.

We’ve solved that problem with Trends!

For almost a year we’ve been building and testing our new Trend feature. It’s a game changer for big companies who want a fast way to identify what is failing and what is working.

Easily Create Ratio Graphs

April 15, 2020 MetaPulse Team
champion stats header image.png

How many phone calls does it take to get a qualified lead?

How many leads does it take to make a sale?

And what about the ratio of appointments to sales?

If you are already tracking calls, leads, appointments and sales, you can easily find out how well the entire team is doing, as well as each individual.

Let me show you how it’s done.

Our fictitious business, Champion Printing, tracks the following stats:

champion stats 1.png

Now let’s work out the ratio between Quotes and Sales using the Calculated Graph feature.

champion stats 2.png

We can also apply this method to each individual to see how well they are performing in comparison to the current team conversion rate of 63%!

champion stats 3.png

It’s obvious that Sam is the weak link in the sales process. Perhaps he needs more training, or there are other factors affecting his performance. Regardless, we know we need to investigate and see how we can help Sam improve.

Want to know more? Check out the Calculated Graph feature and reach out to support if you need help.

And remember envisage includes Statistics, Org Chart and OKRs and you can try it for free on a no-risk 14-day trial. We’ll even help you set up all your existing statistics to make sure you succeed in getting your business onto Envisage.

Live Status - Behind the Scenes Look

March 19, 2020 MetaPulse Team
live status - behind the scenes 1.png

The idea of building an online app appeals to many as a wonderful business. Just throw up a website and start earning monthly revenue. Easy peasy!

Well, like all things, if you truly want to build something worthwhile, it takes time, money and commitment.

Envisage is more than just a “stats app”—with org charts, objectives, trends and reports. It was built from the ground up to help our users enable, foster and manage hypergrowth for their companies. There is a massive amount of data stored in the background, with millions of calculations required to bring that data to you in the form of a graph or chart. This data is stored in databases that are regularly backed up. Also, these databases need to be maintained.

Much of this happens in the background and as a user, everything appears seamless. Occasionally, however, something breaks. It might be a server, internet connections, operating system limitations or a host of other things that would require me to spew out acronyms like alphabet soup that would serve no purpose other than to confuse you.

The point is that when you have an app like envisage which hundreds of companies use to manage and grow their business, we have a responsibility to ensure that your data is safe and accessible—in short, we need to ensure the app works.

On Friday 13th March, around 5pm EST, we had a database issue that caused envisage to timeout. While not everyone was affected, we took major action. The development team worked 9 hours straight to figure out the problem and resolved it permanently. The problem was, in simple terms, we’d hit a limitation with the version of software we use to manage the databases. It’s one of those things you’d never know existed until you run head on into it. The team not only upgraded the software, but also upgraded the servers.

We’ve also instigated a Status page, so you can easily see what is happening in the background and for any future issues, you’ll be able to track realtime what the team are doing to fix it. All information about any issue remains on our status page for your future reference and peace of mind on how we identified and solved the issue. This aligns with our policy of being completely transparent with you, our users.

image.jpg

As a result of the recent issue, envisage now runs even faster on an even more robust system!

via GIPHY

And if you didn’t notice anything, wonderful—that’s how it's meant to be!

P.S. You can see our status page at status.envisage.io or via the in-app chat.

live status - behind the scenes 3.png

And remember envisage includes Statistics, Org Charts and OKRs and you can try it for free on a no-risk 14-day trial. We’ll even help you set up all your existing statistics to make sure you succeed in getting your business onto Envisage and on its way to hyper-growth!

Served anyway you like it - Daily, Weekly, Monthly, etc

The popular calculated graphs feature in envisage allows you to apply any mathematical formula to your graphs.

While many users know and use calculated graphs to perform all kinds of functions, what you might not know is that you can also adjust the frequency of a calculated graph.

Let me show you how this works.

See the average or total with a click

August 23, 2019 MetaPulse Team
average and total.png

The purpose of statistics is to monitor progress. By measuring something daily, weekly or monthly you can easily see if it’s getting better or worse.

Sometimes, however, it’s helpful to see the average or the total.

Envisage lets you do that with a click.

Let’s use sales as an example.
