2021 - Another Year of Stellar Growth and New Features!

It’s been another amazing year at MetaPulse and we want to thank you for your support and patronage during 2021.

The biggest visible change was our rebranding from envisage to MetaPulse, the World’s First Growth Management System™ Application. I am really happy with this change of name and direction and it really sets the stage of what we are trying to achieve here at MetaPulse.

We also launched our Chinese translation of MetaPulse, allowing billions of people to use our platform in their native language.

And we launched Knowledge — a powerful feature to train your team and keep all of your knowledge, procedures and training all in one place — and aligned with the Org Chart. 

And with those changes happening in the background, we continued to expand! We now have over 6,800 users on MetaPulse with more than 1,600 joining this last year!

More than 90,000 graphs have been created that track 12 million individual statistical entries. On average, that’s 3 new graphs every hour and 1 new entry every 15 seconds.

We also performed very important background updates to ensure speed, security and functionality.

Our Help Center has grown to 223 articles and we handled almost 1,300 support enquiries with 99.1% either happy or extremely happy with our service.  

What does this all mean?

It means 2022 is going to be even better! We’ve got more exciting features planned for the world's first Growth Management System Application.

After 10 years of stellar growth under the guidance of Stu Sjouwerman, KnowBe4 went public on April 22, 2021.

Despite achieving annual revenues close to $200 million and a market capitalization of over $4 billion, KnowBe4 still has an amazing 36% annual growth rate with 80%+ Gross Profit.

How did they get there? In Stu Sjouwerman’s words...

2020 … Another year of stellar growth and New Features!

It’s been another amazing year at envisage and we want to thank you for your support and patronage during 2020.

Despite the turmoil created by COVID-19, we still managed to expand and release several new features.

Over 1,200 users joined envisage this year to take our total to over 5,200. 

More than 81,781 graphs have been created that track over 10.6 million individual statistical entries.

We added vital new features, such as Events, Trends and Reports.

We also performed a massive upgrade in speed to make envisage faster than lightning.

All of this combined into 1,311 different features, bug fixes and upgrades individually created, reviewed, approved and deployed with 3,219 files changed representing 162,090 lines of code added, and 290,362 lines of code deleted. We are particularly happy with the lines of code deleted being higher than those added while adding features, as this indicates that we have been working hard to make envisage simpler to develop on and more stable (a line of code that doesn’t exist cannot be a bug! 😀).

Our Help Center has grown to 167 articles and we handled almost 1,500 support enquiries with 98% either happy or extremely happy with our service.  

We also launched Tours and our Free Onboarding Sessions to help you all get the most out of envisage.

What does all this mean?

It means 2021 is going to be even better! We’ve got Knowledge and Tasks coming soon, together they complete the vital aspects of our core features that make envisage the world's first Growth Management System™ Application.

How to Create a Rolling Graph

We had a client recently who wanted to add up graph values for the last 12 months. “Can envisage do that?” she asked.

You bet!  Here’s how it’s done:

Let’s say you wanted to know the total income from the last 12 months.

Keep in mind, this is what we call a rolling statistic. Every week or month it will automatically update to include only the last 12 months. 

First step is to create a new calculated graph, we’ll call it “1 year Accumulative Income.”

We then use the offset feature to add up past values, as shown below.

The above example will create a 4-week rolling accumulation graph. To make this a 1-year accumulation rolling graph requires we add 52 weeks to the formula (this can be a little tedious, so reach out if you need help.) 

To make this a quarterly rolling accumulation graph, add 12 weeks to the formula. The sky’s the limit because envisage can perform any type of mathematical calculation you want.

The thing to keep in mind is this — once the data is inside envisage, anything can be accomplished!

Tasks will be an extension of our Objectives feature, enabling you to plan for the big picture, as well as set and track tasks required to achieve your objectives. 

With Tasks added to Objectives, you’ll have the ultimate planning tool to help you manage growth. No matter how big you grow or how distributed your team, you can track and monitor progress and know what needs to be done. 

Knowledge

Another sought after feature is team knowledge. We’ll provide a place to keep all your company policies and procedures and associate them with the Org Chart allowing new hires to instantly be assigned all the materials they need to learn to be effective on their job.

Plus we’ll provide a tracking system so you know who on your team has read and understood the information they need to know to handle their job. This includes notifications on any update to ensure those who need to know are kept up-to-date with any changes. 

Combined with the org chart, the knowledge system provides another layer of coordination across your entire team. It’s another way envisage will help you manage growth.

Org Chart: Temporary Post Feature

As an organization grows and changes, a person sometimes needs to take on a role that is not part of their usual duties. 

Often these extra duties do not require a full-time employee, but still need to be assigned to someone.

That’s why we created the Temporary Post.

Here’s how it works...

We’ve added the ability to assign a post as “Permanent” or “Temporary” as shown below.

The Temporary Post feature can also be used for temporary staff who are hired for a brief period of time.

Make a Phone Call Direct from the Org Chart

The Org Chart is the central hub of envisage. With it you can coordinate all activities, manage your team and even make a phone call!

Here’s how it works:

Firstly, you need to add the contact phone numbers for all members. If you have a large team we’ve made it easy for you to add or update your entire team.

Once the phone numbers are added to each member, they’ll show up in the member’s post details via the org chart, as shown above.

Simply click on the phone to activate your computer’s phone software (such as Facetime, Skype, Google Hangouts) or your company’s VoIP system. You can also sync your phone to your browser and have the call “sent” to your phone. Just google “how to make a phone call with [enter browser name].”

This is another simple feature that helps team communication and coordination, all to help you grow!

To Delete or Archive? That is the Question

In the ongoing progress of making envisage the foremost Growth Management System™ application ever, we’ve added an important feature on how members are “removed” from the system.

Until now, the only way to remove a member was to delete them. This meant that the graphs and objectives assigned to that member had to be either deleted or archived too. It also meant that the connection between the individual and the result was severed. 

Trying to figure out 2 years from now who achieved result “X” was cumbersome.

That’s why we’ve added the ability to archive a member. This means that the individual can no longer access your envisage organisation, but all information remains accessible, so you can still see who created what result, even when they’ve left the company.

We also prevented a member from being removed if they have assigned graphs, objectives, posts and events. 

Here’s the choices you now see in the Member settings:

And when you choose “Archive Member,” you’ll see this warning.

It’s another useful tool that helps you manage growth.

Org Chart: Assistant Feature

CEOs and managers often have assistants who help them get more done. Occasionally, the assistant acts on behalf of the manager. 

In many cases, the assistant needs the same level of permission access as the manager or executive they work for. 

In envisage, we have created Assistant Post features which cater for the needs of this vital role.

Here’s how it works:

As we discussed in a prior article, the In Charge Feature provides an easy way for managers and executives to get full access to their juniors on the org chart. 

The assistant feature works in the same way. It provides the same access level to graphs and objectives as the Manager they assist, making it easier for the assistant to coordinate their team’s activities.

The assistant hat is highlighted by either a shaded area or a floating node as shown above. 

It’s another useful tool that helps you organise and monitor your team’s progress.

Org Chart - In Charge Feature

The In Charge feature in envisage makes it easy for managers to coordinate their team’s activities. 

Several weeks ago we made a significant change to the way the org chart works—we now have Hats, Posts and Members.

Each hat on the org chart can be assigned the “In Charge” of that area. This automatically grants the In Charge with edit permissions for all their juniors on the org chart. 

This makes it easy for a manager to view and update graphs, objectives and monitor their team’s performance.

This applies across the entire org chart, permitting every manager from the top to the bottom, to effectively manage.

It’s another vital feature that enables hyper-growth.

Easily compare this year to last year

Although you should track your stats on a weekly basis, it’s often good to know if you are beating last year’s performance.

You can do this using the Offset feature, now available with Comparison Graphs and Calculated Graphs. 

We’ve made an upgrade so you can easily compare different periods in any frequency, be it weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Prior to this recent upgrade, the offset feature was limited to the graph's default frequency.

Let’s create a comparison graph to compare the current month’s Sales to the Sales of the same month last year. 

Creating an Offset Comparison Graph

First we create a new Comparison graph called Sales This Year / Last year. Then we added the current values and 12-month-offset values as shown below.

End Result

Now you can easily compare your current results to the same period last year, whether weekly, monthly or quarterly. Simple hover to see the values and dates.

Exploring the New Trend Feature

The new Trend feature provides a quick summary of all your statistics. 

You can see at a glance how your business is performing. 

The Trend summary appears on your Dashboard and can be viewed on any graph. 

Here’s how it works:

Show & Hide Trends in Graph View

You can see all trends using the Show Trend button in Graph View. Once done, click Hide Trends.

And remember, our Trend feature includes a machine learning algorithm, so if you see a trend that’s not quite right, be sure to Flag it as shown here.
