What is OKR?

What does Google, LinkedIn, Twitter and Uber have in common?

They use OKRs to manage and grow their businesses.

OKR stands for Objectives and Key Results.

It’s a framework for defining and tracking objectives and their outcomes.

More simply put, it’s a way to ensure the right things get DONE!

Here’s what Larry Page, co-founder of Google, has to say about OKRs:

"OKRs have helped lead us to 10x growth, many times over. They’ve helped make our crazily bold mission of 'organizing the world’s information' perhaps even achievable. They’ve kept me and the rest of the company on time and on track when it mattered the most."

Since becoming popular at Google, OKRs have been used in other tech start-ups. You might have heard of them, companies like LinkedIn, Twitter and Uber.

To be clear, OKRs comprise an objective — a clearly defined goal —
and one or more key results — specific measures used to track the achievement of that goal.

Envisage currently provides Key Results in the form of graphs.

The next phase of our development is Objectives, which allows you to create goals and link them to the results — the statistics graph.

We currently have several clients testing the Objectives system and once it has passed the user test, we’ll be releasing it to everyone.

When it’s live, envisage will
provide every element of OKR.

To read more about OKRs we recommend this book Measure What Matters: How Google, Bono, and the Gates Foundation Rock the World with OKRs. It was written by John Doerr, a former Intel employee turned venture capitalist, who introduced the OKR concept to the Google Founders before Google became the tech giant it is today.

Excited? You should be. This is a major undertaking and it will undoubtedly make envisage the OKR app of choice.

More importantly, we’ll help you achieve your business goals.
