Let me show you how they work.

Firstly, let’s recap some key terms so you know what we’re talking about.

Org Node

A "Node" is a central or connecting point and is often used to describe something attached to a network. (Oxford Dictionary)

We use the term "Org Node" to represent a division, department, section, etc. In fact, with envisage you can create any type of Org Node and call it what you want!

Child

We're not talking about kids! 😃 A child in the Org Chart is a type of node that will be nested inside another node. It's used to create hierarchy. For example, a child could be a department inside a division, or section inside a department and so on. 

Floating Org Node

To provide further clarity on organisational hierarchy, we’ve introduced Org Nodes that “float” above their respective child nodes as shown in the image above. See Help Center for more tips on how to use this feature.

Easily Rearrange Child Nodes 

As we recommend in our Getting Started with Org Charts Guide it’s best to start by designing the overall org structure. This is made even easier with the new Sort Child feature, add all the nodes you want and easily rearrange them, as illustrated above.
