New Features for 2020

Hi there everyone,

2019 was an amazing year for envisage. We built a raft of new features including our major release of Org Charts and Objectives. This combined with a massive number of updates and improvements meant that envisage continued to lead the way in business management software.

In fact, in 2019, we made 4,129 changes to the code base, which is just under 20 per work day! This involved changes to 1,646 files with 99,737 lines of code added and 28,900 lines of code removed! Quite a year!

But we aren’t planning on slowing down. 2020 has a huge list of new features currently in development or planned and we thought you’d like to get a sneak peek at the new features!

  1. Events Log (built)

  2. Email Notifications (built)

  3. Reports (built)

  4. Trend Recognition (building)

  5. Mobile App (planned)

  6. Org Chart Templates (planned)

  7. Data Sources (planned)

  8. Policy (planned)

Events Logs

We gave you a sneak peak of this awesome feature late last year. It’s being thoroughly tested by our larger clients to ensure all is ready for broad release.

The Events Log automatically tracks major changes in your organization and it’s fully searchable. Anytime you need to go back and find “What happened?” the data will be there for you.

Email Notifications

Probably one of our most requested features—Email Notifications.

Soon your team will get a reminder to enter their stats and best of all the email will contain a unique link that will take them straight to a data entry page. No navigating required, just click, enter the number and save!

Reports

This is a vital tool for management to know what is happening at every level of your organisation. With the Reports function, anyone in your team can write a report on any situation they see that should be made known. A report can be written to praise someone for a job well done, or it can warn management of non-optimum conduct or situations.

Trend Recognition

Trend recognition will alert you of downtrends and uptrends. This is especially useful for management when you have a lot of graphs!

Mobile App

Many of you have asked about a dedicated mobile app for envisage and we are happy to say this is one of the planned releases for 2020. This will allow you to have a copy of your business within easy access on your phone within a dedicated app, and we are super excited about it!

Org Chart Templates

This will make creating your org chart even easier. We’ll have several templates for you to just click, update the post titles and add your members. Simple!

Data Sources

Now this is a big one! Currently there are several ways to get your data into envisage:

  1. Enter data manually

  2. Upload your data in bulk

  3. Link to other apps via Zapier (read more on that here).

We’re going to take this to a whole new level with Data Sources.

You see, the data you enter into envisage already exists somewhere.

So why not just connect to the data source?

For example, connect directly to your accounting software, your spreadsheets, your Point of Sale system, your CRM (database). No matter what system you’re using we plan to create a way for you to link directly.

Once that is achieved, envisage will be able to report real time data. You’ll be able to look at sales over any time frame. Not just weekly, but daily, hourly, even by the minute!

Pretty cool hey?

Policy

Another sought after feature is policies. We’ll provide a place to keep all your company policies and procedures. Plus we’ll provide a tracking system so you know who on your team has read and understood the policies. This includes notifications on any policy updates to ensure those who need to know are kept up-to-date with policy changes.

Summary

So that’s what we’re working on for 2020.
